The biggest issue for me is that I get exhausted just watching her, so I’m a really bad judge of when she’s had too much. The FieldSentinel 825 words on dogs 8 pounds or larger with neck sizes 5″ – 22″, which covers a very wide range of breeds. However, that does eliminate many toy breeds and may eliminate XXL dogs (like the Great Dane). Also, the size and weight of the collar may not be comfortable for dogs on the smaller end of the 5-22” spectrum.
I will add this, though- out of all of the different types of GPS and dog training collars I’ve tried, this one is by far the easiest to adjust. It’s more like a belt, with plenty of holes and a buckle to tuck the excess under.
Initial Setup Learning Curve
With so many customization options, expect a learning curve. Adjusting the stimulation settings, health alert thresholds, and button functions takes time, but once you get it set up, it’s easy to use.
Only Comes in Black
This really isn’t a major “con” since it doesn’t affect function, but I do wish that it came in more colors. As of now, it’s only available in black. The same goes for all of the SportDOG collars. Now that I think of it, that probably does help keep the price down since they’re not making a bunch of different versions of the same product.
