On June 14th, 2021, TOMO – a dog product company based out of Los Angeles, CA – launched a Kickstarter campaign for their newest innovation, the Easy Connect Dog Gear. The company focused on designing a product that aims to make the lives of dog owners easier, and thus, they were able to innovate this patent-pending gear which is a set of easy-to-connect collar, leash, and harness that has a minimalist design and a one-of-a-kind latch.

The founders of TOMO, Brandon Lopez and Eric Renard, a designer and an industrial designer/engineer, respectively, has innovated this easy-to-connect system that can help make it more convenient for all dog owners out there to attach your dog’s gear easily by just pressing buttons to unlock and reconnect the latch to secure your dog.

The founders are both dog lovers and this is why they know what it’s like taking care of dogs and taking care of their gears, and this is why they were able to brew up this idea of designing a dog gear that will not only make it easier for dog owners out there to attach the leash to their dogs but also keep it comfortable for your pups. They reinvented the design of the latches so you can swiftly attach it across their collar, harness, and leash. 

They even added features such as a custom name tag that is completely silent and an integrated dispenser that you can mount on the leash. It is also made of durable material which makes it last longer, waterproof, and easy to clean, something you would want especially for your dogs that have their quirky personality.

Material. The founders carefully chose the materials to ensure that it is durable and long-lasting. All of the materials they offer are waterproof hence easily washable, coated with an odor-resistant BioThane webbing which makes it very easy to clean with just a single wipe. 

Hardware. The founders designed this easy-connect dog gear, and as dog-owners themselves, they know the pain of having products that are mismatched and that do not fit. 

Functionality. They wanted a gear that is not only durable but is also easy to use. It is made up of very strong materials and can support dogs that are even up to 70 lbs featuring a very cohesive easy-connect latch system.
