What is the dogPACER LF 3.1 Treadmill?

dogPACER LF 3.1 Treadmill Features

Apart from being the best-reviewed dog treadmill on Amazon, the dogPACER LF 3.1 Treadmill is considered to be the best treadmill for small to large dogs.

The main reason why dog parents loved the dogPACER LF 3.1 is that it is significantly lower than all of the other available dog treadmills in the market. Some treadmills range from $1000-$2000, imagine the money you can save! However, the best part is that you’ll surely be impressed with what you will get for the money!

With a running surface more than 71” x 16.5”, the dogPACER LF 3.1 can cater dogs weighing 1 to 180 pounds. Furthermore, dogPACER sells a variety of dog treadmills that cater all dogs of all breeds and sizes.

The manufacturer also sells a mini dogPACER, which is the mini dogPACER Treadmill. The treadmill is exactly like the dogPACER LF 3.1 but especially designed for your little pup! However, I still recommend the standard size because it is important to use a treadmill that is at least your dog’s size or bigger.

If you’re feeling a little generous then you might consider buying the special editions of the dogPACER LF 3.1 treadmill. Introducing the dogPACER LF 3.1 ELITE Treadmill and dogPACER LF 3.1 HOPE Treadmill.

The ELITE version has an upgraded camouflage side panels and $100 of its proceeds is for the Wounded Warrior Project to help wounded veterans. On the other hand, the HOPE version has upgraded pink panels and $100 of its proceeds is for the help to fight canine cancer.

The upgraded versions of the dogPACER LF 3.1 treadmill are perfect for dog owners who want a more stylish dog treadmill as an addition to their home. Plus, you’ll be also buying for a cause!

Benefits of a Dog Pacer Treadmill

dogPACER LF 3.1 Treadmill

You have probably this question in mind, “why should I bother investing for a dogPACER treadmill if my dog can use our regular treadmill?”dogPACER treadmills look similar to treadmills designed for us and both are used for exercise. But as a matter of fact, both are completely different from each other.

Has it ever crossed your mind that why would there be dog treadmills if our canine companions can use our treadmills? Therefore, dog treadmills are specifically designed to meet the needs of our dogs. It is designed based on how they think, how they act, and what they can do.

Whether your dog needs to recover from a knee injury or you have to do work sometimes that you cannot walk your dog outside the park, adding a treadmill is a great addition to your dog’s workout.

A dogPACER treadmill is not only a great addition to your dog’s exercise regime but it is also a cure for overweight dogs. Obesity is a common ailment in dogs of all ages but usually occurs in middle-aged ones. Whether you want to lessen your dog’s weight or prevent him/her from being obese, a dog treadmill is what you need.

Bring your dog back to fitness again by using a dogPACER treadmill. It will help your dog to have a happier, healthier and longer life by incorporating exercise like what we do to our health. Also, don’t forget the proper diet for your dog.

Trust me, with your encouragement, healthy diet, and a consistent treadmill workout, your dog will eventually achieve his/her goal in no time! However, keep in mind that a dog treadmill training is not a substitute for outside walks. It is also essential to take your furry friend out for a walk to get him/her enough mental stimulation.

Furthermore, this kind of workout is a great opportunity for bonding even if you are busy working in your computer or cleaning the living room since you can both enjoy being together doing your own activities. You can observe your dog’s movements and condition. You can start the dog walking session and stop it any time you want. It will be easier for dogs to use the dogPACER treadmill since it is easier to control and can accommodate your dog’s stride than a regular treadmill.

Disadvantages of the dogPACER LF 3.1 Treadmill

dogPACER LF 3.1 Dog Treadmill Review

The dogPACER LF 3.1 seemed like heaven on earth for dogs but unfortunately, we also encountered some disadvantages while using it. Here is our own dogPACER review with pros and cons.

More Improvements

I might consider the dogPACER LF 3.1 Treadmill a perfect one if I could create and save my own program. I wish that the treadmill has the ability to record custom interval programs and track the mileage of my dog. It would be more convenient for me if I wouldn’t manually set the interval to fit my dog’s workout regime every time we are using the treadmill. This isn’t hardly a deal-breaker but I would gladly pay an additional cost for this feature!

Heavy

The most difficult part of the installation was getting the treadmill out of the box. The treadmill is huge and weighs 90 pounds so I had to ask for help to get it out of the box.

Features of the dogPACER 3.1 Treadmill

After knowing the benefits that a DogPACER treadmill could provide and give to your dog, we are going to let you know how the dogPACER LF 3.1 worked for us.

Trouble-free Installation

I was expecting to exert a lot of effort and time for the installation of our dogPACER treadmill. I am not technical by any means and I was going to set up a treadmill after all. However, in reality, I found the dogPACER LF 3.1 treadmill very easy to install!

The product instilled a good impression because it was delivered on time and was very well packaged. My treadmill arrived in perfect condition in sturdy packaging. Thankfully, there was no unnecessary plastics or boxes that are very difficult to unwrap or unbox. You’ll know what I mean if you’re fond of ordering online!

In fact, the most difficult part of the installation was removing the shrink wrap. There were instructions provided that were sufficient enough to help me all throughout the process. Plus, the dogPACER treadmill came mostly assembled. It only took me half an hour and a couple of steps to assemble it all together.

Speed Control

There are customized programs available on the canine treadmill’s computer so you do not have to spend more on searching dog exercise programs. There is three pre-programmed settings that you can choose from. These settings can be matched to your dog’s condition, size, and speed to allow a more efficient workout.

The treadmill settings are three pre-programmed, 30-minute interval workouts. The best part is that your dog is not required to finish all 30 minutes of workout. You can start the session and stop it at any time.

One of the best features of the dogPACER LF 3.1 is that I can manually increase or decrease the speed of the interval while the program is running. This feature allows me to choose the best workout that fits my dog’s ability. It is a huge bonus for me.

Moreover, there is still a manual option if you want to customize your dog’s treadmill workout. You can always set speed and manually adjust it during a workout. After all, speed control is probably one of the main reasons why dog owners purchase a motor-driven treadmill.

However, you have to remember that dog treadmill workout training is not about hitting a high speed. It’s about finding the most appropriate pace and program that challenges your dog mostly.

Healthier and Happier Dog

I was expecting to have a hard time training my dog with using the treadmill. This will be the first time that he is going to run on a treadmill. Truthfully speaking, the most difficult part of dog treadmill workout is teaching your dog on how to walk on a treadmill.

You have to keep in mind that your patience and compassion is essential during the first phase of training your dog. Training my dog on how to walk on his dogPACER LF 3.1 treadmill took two weeks. He’s an active dog that is mostly getting the exercise he needs so I didn’t have much difficulty.

I started by starting with a very slow speed to help my dog become acclimated to the treadmill. It will also avoid your dog from getting frightened and leaving a bad impression. Dogs have a good memory and the last thing you want to have is incorporate a bad memory to the treadmill! Slowly, your treadmill workout will eventually result in higher speed.

Seeing my dog getting all excited about training and motivated to hop on his treadmill makes the product really worth the purchase! Sometimes, he would hop on his treadmill and ask me to turn it on. Since then, my dog was getting all the exercise he really needs and fixed some unnecessary behaviour because he wasn’t getting bored anymore. I was surprised to see the result!

To help my dog have a healthy lifestyle, I would take him out for a walk whenever I have the chance. I always made sure that we would go outside during the weekends. However, there are chances that I could not take him outside for a walk or exercise. This is when my dogPACER LF 3.1 Treadmill gets useful.

Indoor Dog Training

There are no excuses since your dog can use the canine treadmill indoors whether the weather is too hot or too cold. You do not have to worry about his or her knee joints because its running surface is flat. No rocky pavements, no mud. To feel the outdoor setting, you can set the incline and speed so your dog can have a low impact activity while having a rehabilitation or training. Your dog will be safe from allergies, cars and obstacles while you are conditioning him or her for the walk. Check this video to have an idea about dogPACER LF 3.1 training

Dog-Friendly

One of the best features of the dogPACER LF 3.1 is it’s a quiet motor. This feature is extremely helpful because even for a first-timer, my dog wasn’t frightened at all! Since pets have sensitive hearing especially the recovering ones, the dogPacer LF 3.1 has a whisper-quiet motor that is not distracting. The canine treadmill’s sleek and foldable design can even save space. With its 71 x 16.5 inches surface, wider dogs can also have fun walking and running on it. With a shipping weight of 97 pounds, this treadmill can even hold a dog up to 180 pounds.

Space-Saving

dogPACER LF 3.1 Treadmill Folding

All dogPACER treadmills are designed to be portable. The treadmills have a “patented folding technology” that makes it light for easier storage. When my dog is done using the treadmill, I can simply fold it up against the wall or slide it under the couch. Talk about convenient!

Incline Control

When buying treadmills, one of the most important factors to consider is incline control. During my research, some of the treadmills that I found doesn’t have an incline control feature. Fortunately, the dogPACER LF 3.1 treadmill has a manual incline that can be used or not!

Being able to adjust the grade of the walking surface is very useful for overweight dogs, dogs prone to dysplasia, and those who are undergoing physical therapy or rehabilitation.

The incline must be set prior to the dog treadmill workout. However, you cannot change the incline without stopping the treadmill and removing the dog. This isn’t much of a deal-breaker anyway since many treadmills work like this.

dogPACER LF 3.1 Treadmill Summary

My dog loves his dogPACER LF 3.1 treadmill as much as I do. I love that it’s easy to control, durable, space-saver, and cheaper than most dog treadmills in the market. I can testify that I got an impressive product that is worth its price! My dog and I recommend it to all dogs as a great addition for a healthier lifestyle. I give it 9.6 stars out of ten.

  • This is overall a good treadmill. I do agree that it would be nice to be able to program it but the preset programs work well for our needs. It’s not that hard to assemble. I am a woman and did it myself. Luckily, my dog, a German Shepherd, took to it right away but then he is usually game for anything.
