Do you have a really playful dog that loves to explore? You would probably consider buying SportDOG In-Ground Dog Fence System. Seeing our furry babies in their natural nature and freedom is amusing. However, a dog who loves to venture around has their safety at risk. As a dog owner, our dog’s safety is our number one obligation. It is understandable for pet shelters, breeders, and rescue organizations to require fencing in your place before adopting a pet out to you. It is one of the essential factors to ensure an animal’s safety. The best way to contain your dog is to provide an invisible fence where he is free to play yet he has a boundary. However, choosing the appropriate and best one may be difficult. This SportDOG In-Ground Dog Fence System is one of the best options on the market! Let me share some experience with you.

SportDOG In-Ground Dog Fence SystemSportDOG In-Ground Dog Fence System is Easy to Install

With help from the manual, my friend and I didn’t get any trouble installing this SportDOG fence system. It somehow required patience and time but it was worth it in the end because it gave the best results! Tiring work but not bad, especially when you consider the cost of professional installation.

Installation is as easy as burying the wire around the perimeter of my yard, setting up the flags, and plugging in the transmitter. Burying the wire is not necessary if a fence already exists. Directly secure the line to the fence, and it’s all set up.

Effective Fence System

After hours of installation and training, my dog learned very quickly not to cross the barrier. Even when a neighbor, another dog, or cat is in his sight, he did not leave my property a single time. He hasn’t tried to cross the boundary, with or without the collar since then. I fully intended to complete the training with my dog as laid out in the instruction. Training is required to familiarize your dog with the new barrier and how it works.

The use of the containment system is not limited to only one dog, which is a great feature. SportDOG In-Ground Dog Fence System allows its consumers to buy extra collars to cover all of your dogs. Did I mention that the batteries are standard 9 volt that lasts up to 6-12 months? Buying extra batteries wouldn’t be a problem for me since it doesn’t require special batteries.

Dog-friendly and 100% Safe For You

The collar receiver gives you four different levels of static stimulation to match your dog’s temperament and sensitivity. If my dog was near the flags, a warning tone and vibration go off. I only tried the second level, and it was enough to teach him not to cross the barrier.

Furthermore, the transmitter and collar are both waterproof. The transmitter features built-in lightning protection, so you don’t have to buy a separate lightning protection device. That’s not all, the containment system also includes a wire break alarm, that will alert you of a break or cut of the wire.

Durable and Long-lasting Fence System

When I read product reviews and feedback from clients, a lot has testified that they have been using the SportDOG In-Ground dog fence and train system for years and it’s still working perfectly. I have this for five months now, and it still works great as it worked for the first time. I was glad that they used solid-core copper wire as a standard, much higher quality than the wires of the most containment system. Thus, the wire is easy to find on any hardware stores and cheaper.

2 Year Warranty

The best thing about the SportDOG train system is that it’s backed up with a two-year warranty. SportDOG will replace any damaged parts if it’s not intentionally damaged, abused, installed, or stored improperly. A client proves that their customer service is very accommodating and the warranty works when he used the warranty twice.

This SportDOG in-ground fence system is everything I expected! It is pricey though (we paid $399) but in my opinion it worth it! It just required me to follow everything in the manual and patience to set it up. Buying extra collars and batteries may be a bit pricey, but some of its features allow me to save more compared to other containment systems. Since the day I installed the SportDOG fence system in my yard, I’ve had a lot more positive experiences with my pups. Overall, it’s a great product and highly recommended!
