Our verdict
Both products are good for dog training (same as Garmin collars), they have good quality and useful features, nevertheless, I couldn’t exactly say one is better than the other because they have different ways they can be used and be better than the other.
For example, let’s talk about SportDog, this collar can track 3 dogs at the same time, and it does not have the same training levels as Dogtra, or the same range, but it can easily adapt to a bigger variety of dogs with different stages, which tells me this device is perfect for amateur or semi-professional dog trainers who just want to train the dog so, it improves his domestic behavior, also for normal people who want to train his dog at home. But if you want to train a dog more professionally, maybe Dogtra is a better option. Dogtra, unlike SportDog, just can track one dog, but it has a better range and offers you better control over the dog you want to train. Dogtra has a better and more comfortable design for the dog but it just can be used in bigger dogs, different from SportDog. This may be to focus on the kind of dogs that are trained professionally for special tasks, and not in the house, also SportDog has a much smaller price than Dogtra, making it more accessible to anyone who wants to train his dog, and Dogtra has a more expensive price, but offers better control over the dog.
So, as a conclusion, the best product talking about features is Dogtra due to it has better specifications talking about dog and stimulus control. If you’re on your way to be a professional trainer, I would recommend you try Dogtra, but if you just want to train your dog at home, it would be better to buy SportDog. My personal choice would be Dogtra collar.
