7 Best Dog Cameras With Treat Dispenser In 2023

If you’re a return reader, you may have noticed that this list used to be longer. We pulled a few off that either no longer exist or just seriously went downhill and we can’t recommend any longer.

While I left two budget-friendly cameras towards the bottom of the list, I strongly recommend sticking with one of the top 5. All 5 have been around long enough to build confidence, and all five have a solid reputation.

1. Furbo 360° Dog Camera and Treat Dispenser

Placing Furbo dog camera in my living room

The feature-rich Furbo 360° remote dog camera with treat dispenser earns the #1 spot on my list (although it was a close match between this and #2). When the updated model first launched in 2022, it was the only doggy camera that rotated a full 360 degrees. Today, there are a few more on the market that do that, but none of them have the reputation or the reviews that Furbo has.

Furbo 360° Dog Camera Main Features

  • Treat-dispensing feature developed specifically for dogs
  • Wide-angle 360 degrees view (when rotated)
  • Alert you when it detects movement via the Furbo app
  • It detects when your dog is facing the camera
  • 1080p HD resolution with color night vision mode
  • 2-way microphone lets you talk to your dog
Auto dog tracking on Furbo camera

What We Like

  • Works well with a wide variety of training treats
  • One of the most well-designed systems overall.
  • Real-time Smart Alerts send push notifications to your mobile phone when it detects movements, people, and dog selfies.
  • Helps identify separation anxiety habits like frequent pacing and excessive licking.
  • Doubles as a backup security system since it alerts you to intruders
  • Identifies when your dog is looking at the camera and alerts you, so you can grab some adorable dog selfies!
The size of the treat dispenser in Furbo camera

What We Don’t Like

  • It needs some work with recognizing humans versus dogs
  • The cord is a bit on the short side
  • The notifications can be a bit overwhelming. They need to tweak the settings, or allow you to be more choosy about which notifications you get.
  • The app isn’t the most intuitive, especially when it comes to setting up schedules.
  • You’ll need a subscription to unlock cloud storage for your videos

Overall, the Furbo 360° Dog Camera itself is a great buy for anyone who wants to keep an eye on their dog while they’re away. The video quality is great, the wide angle lets you see the entire room (or at least most of it), and the treat-tossing function works pretty well compared to some others that I’ve tried.

I do think that the app still needs some work, though. I feel like since the Furbo has been out for a while, this is really something they should have already tackled. Honestly, though, I find most apps glitchy in one way or another, so it’s not a dealbreaker.

Check the current price on the official website, Amazon, or read our full review on Furbo Camera here.

2. Petcube Bites 2 Treat Dispenser Dog Camera

Petcube Bites 2 pet camera on my drawer

For all the best features treat dog cameras have to offer, the Petcube Bites was an easy top pick that almost tied with Furbo. I gave Furbo the #1 spot mainly because of the 360-degree feature.

Petcube Main Features

  • High-definition camera that provides both live and recorded videoAutomatic treat-dispensing
  • 160° wide-angle view
  • 2-way audio
  • Night vision

What We Don’t Like

  • Night vision feature doesn’t record in color.
  • One of the more expensive options
  • Doesn’t pan, so you need to fiddle with it to make sure it’s in the perfect spot.
Petcube Bites 2 camera image quality at night

To sum up, Petcube Bites 2 is slightly more expensive, does not have 360 views and night vision image quality is not the best. But what it lacks in video quality it makes up for in treat-tossing versatility. Check the latest price here, sometimes they run specials.

3. PupPod Interactive Dog Game & Treat-Tossing Camera

I am a big fan of PupPod because it’s more than just a dog camera, it’s a great interactive toy too.

PupPod Interactive Treat-Tossing Camera Features

  • It’s a Smart Toy Rocker and the Feeder PLUS Dog Camera
  • Check-in on your dog when away from home thanks to the app
  • Stream HD video from the feeder to your smartphone
  • Based on based on operant conditioning and positive reinforcement training.
  • Mentally stimulating.
  • Large treat container works with just about any training treats
  • Compatible with 2.4 and 5.0 GHz routers

What We Like

  • PupPod isn’t just a “look at Fido and toss some treats” camera, it’s a whole mental enrichment device for dogs.
  • The Rocker lights up and makes a variety of sounds to entice dogs to play
  • Choose different difficulty levels for the game
  • You don’t need a subscription to use it!
  • While it has a bit of a learning curve, most dogs pick it up pretty quickly
  • Rocker runs on D batteries, but they last A LONG time.

What We Don’t Like

  • It’s pricey
  • Sometimes treats get stuck
  • It doesn’t rotate or pan, so you have to set it up just right

The PupPod really is one of the most innovative dog treat cameras thanks to its smart features and mentally stimulating games. My dog absolutely loves it, and has a blast chasing the treats. While it’s on the expensive side, it’s really not all that pricey when you consider that it’s not just a treat-tossing doggy camera.

You can check videos of how it works and get the dog camera from their official website.

4. eufy Pet Camera With Treat Dispenser

If you’re looking for a moderately-priced dog camera that not only shoots pet treats but has plenty of other features for interacting with your pooch while away from home, then you’ll love eufo (not a typo, their brand name is all lower-case).

Pet Dog Camera D605

eefy Pet Camera Main Features

  • A 170° wide-angle lens with 1080p clarity
  • Rotates 270°
  • Smart motion tracking detects your dog and moves the camera to stay focused on them
  • Comes with 16GB of local storage
  •  2-way audio
  • Barking detections

What We Like

  • eufy’s pet-watching camera LITERALLY watches your pet. Its pet-identification feature automatically frames your dog and tracks his movement. In other words, you don’t have to wait for him to come into the frame to interact with him because he’s ALWAYS in the frame!
  • It also has crystal-clear night vision. I was able to clearly see what my pups do in the dark.
  • This treat-throwing dog camera allows me to hear what’s going on at home and send voice messages as well!
  • The two-way microphone feature lets me train and monitor my dog at the same time.
  • The bark detection feature is awesome, too. It automatically alerts me when my dogs start barking like crazy.
  • No subscription required!

One of my favorite features of the eufy pet cam is that it allows me to store 16GB of videos without a subscription. So many pet monitoring cameras make you pay a subscription fee on top of the already-pricey base fee. So while eufy may be a bit more than some of the other doggy cams on this list, it’s worth it because you don’t have to pay for anything else to use all of the features.

What We Don’t Like

Pet Dog Camera D605
  • At $199, it’s among the pricier options
  • It doesn’t rotate 360 degrees.
  • Some customers had problems getting it to connect to WiFi

Overall, the features of the eufy dog treat dispenser make it a solid option if you want a camera with a lot of features that let you interact with your furry friends while away from home and don’t mind spending $200.

Check current prices on the eufy website and use the coupon code EUFY20%OFF to save 20% off your purchase in their early Black Friday sale. That sale ends on 12/8/2023. If you miss it, use WSEUFY15US to save 15% through 12/31/2023.

5. Wopet Dog Treat Camera

If you’re looking for a dog treat camera with most of the same features of Furbo or Petcube but at half the price, WOpet is a good way to go. While ratings on the original model have slipped a bit since I first tried it, it’s still good enough to earn the #4 spot on my list.

WOPet Main Features

  • Treat-tossing smart technology
  • 1080P HD Camera
  • 165°wide viewing angle
  • Integrated with Alexa
  • Night vision
  • Two Way Audio
  • Works with 5GHz and 2.4GHz WiFi systems
  • Easy 3-Step Setup

What We Like

  • Works with Alexa. You can even use it to set up a feeding schedule.
  • WOpet pet camera is easy to set up.
  • It can toss up to 3 pieces of treats each time.
  • Night vision spy setting makes it easy to check in on your dog even in a low-light or no-light setting.

What We Don’t Like

  • No customer service number. You can only email them for support. Plus, they’re located in China, which means they may not respond for a good 14+ hours.
  • It doesn’t pan
  • USB attaches on the side (versus the back) of the system, so it’s harder to hide the cord
  • Connection issues (while I didn’t have this problem, a few of my friends and Amazon reviewers said that they did, so it’s worth mentioning).

Overall, WOpet Smart Dog Treat camera is an affordable (compared to our other top picks) way to keep an eye on your dog anytime and anywhere. Check the current price on Amazon.

6. Cengcen Dog Camera

Cengcen, another pick for the “best-budgeted options” for a pet treat camera, recently released a brand-new 2023 model that adds even more amazing features. Let’s check them out.

Cengcen Main Features

  • Bluetooth pairing supports both 2.4 GHz and 5.0 GHz WiFi frequencies
  • 2-Way Audio
  • 1080P HD dog treat camera
  • Automatically switches into night vision mode when it detects low lighting.
  • 130° Field of View
  • Built-in 16GB TF ( basically the same thing as a microSD card) Card
  • Motion detection triggers the recording feature and captures one minute of video.

What We Like

  • Super quick and easy to set up. No need to scan a QR code and go through a dozen crazy steps.
  • You can share your account with up to two more people.
  • Automatically adjusts the angle of view, making it easier to toss treats to your dog
  • You can mount it to a wall. It even comes with hooks to do just that!
  • Works with treats up to 0.6 inches in diameter.
  • I REALLY love that it comes with a card for recording. No subscription required!

What We Don’t Like

  • Even though it automatically adjusts the field of view, the 130° angle is one of the lowest on this list.
  • Only records one minute of video at a time.
  • Cengen doesn’t have the best customer service record.
  • Glitchy app

If you need something relatively affordable for a treat-tossing dog camera, and prefer something that mounts on your wall, Cengen is a good way to go. However, just be aware that customer service leaves something to be desired. At least if you order from Amazon, it’s easier to return it if something goes wrong.

CENGCEN Pet Monitoring Camera Dog Treat Dispenser [New 2023 Pro]

The new 2023 CENGEN camera treat dispenser features upgraded Bluetooth pairing network connectivity, supporting 2.4 GHz and 5.0 GHz WiFi frequencies. It means you can not only use the traditional connection method, but also pair and connect your device through Bluetooth. With Bluetooth distribution network, setting up the network for your pet monitor treats dispenser is a breeze, taking just a few minutes without the need to scan QR codes.

Next up is the SKYMEE SM-02. This one is another “budget” cam with all the features that you need in a dog monitor that gives treats!

SKYMEE SM-02 Main Features

  • 1080P Full HD camera
  • 130 degrees wide-angle view
  • The pet camera is able to toss treats with sizes 0.6cm-1.1cm
  • Night vision
  • Two-way audio
  • Motion-detection feature
  • Petalk AI feature

What We Like

  • The SKYMEE doesn’t just toss treats- it flicks them! So much fun!
  • Holds up to 100 small and round DRY treats so you never run out of them!
  • No subscription needed
  •  8 infrared lights which automatically detect low lighting

What We Don’t Like

  • Only connects via 2.4G routers
  • Compatible with different sizes of treats but only one size at a time
  • Lackluster customer service

To summarize, while it’s not one of my top 5 picks, I do think that the Skymee dog treat camera has a reasonable price as far as dog cameras go. There are enough positive reviews to make it worth trying. Just make sure you order it through Amazon or another site with a good return policy, because their customer service is virtually non-existent.

Dog Treat Camera Benefits (& How To Use Them)

Furbo dog camera is tossing treat while dog tries to catch it
Furbo Treat Camera

A camera with a treat-tossing feature is one of the top dog gadgets of 2023. As the name implies, these are cameras that come with a built-in treat dispenser. They allow you to watch Fido 24/7 through the app. That same app has features that also let you toss your pooch a treat. They’re great for interacting with your pup anytime and anywhere.

Choosing the Perfect Dog Treat Camera

Before you dive into treat-tossing bliss, you need to pick the right camera for your canine companion. We did the hard work for you above! Now you just need to pick one.

Consider factors like camera quality, treat capacity, and compatibility with your smartphone. Look for features that align with your pup’s personality – whether they’re a curious explorer or a couch potato, there’s a treat camera for every dog.

Setting Up Your Dog Treat Camera

Now, let’s get down to business. Setting up your dog treat camera is as easy as teaching your pup a new trick. Connect the camera to your home Wi-Fi, download the app, and follow the simple instructions.

Once you’ve got the technicalities sorted, position the camera strategically – maybe near your dog’s favorite hangout spot.

Mastering the Art of Treat Dispensing

The pièce de résistance – treat dispensing! Use the app to trigger the dispenser and watch your dog’s excitement reach new heights.

You can dispense treats as a reward for good behavior or just to show some love during a boring afternoon. Experiment with different treat sizes and see which ones your pup goes gaga over.

Making Alone Time a Paw-ty

Dog treat cameras aren’t just about surveillance; they’re about turning solo moments into a celebration. Engage in a virtual game of fetch, have a bark-filled conversation through the two-way audio, and witness the joy on your dog’s face as they enjoy a surprise treat – all from the palm of your hand.

A Treat for You and Your Pup

In a nutshell, a dog treat camera is your ticket to staying connected with your pet, even when miles apart. Choose wisely, set up effortlessly, and let the treat dispensing fun begin! Your dog will thank you with wagging tails and slobbery kisses. Happy treating!

  • The problem with WOPET which I was about to buy is that it works with 2.4 GHZ on the home wireless and not 5 which is what I have. You don’t even mention that and that could affect many.

  • Curious as to how you use the treat dispenser with two dogs? Have you been successful in making sure that each dog gets a treat? My dogs don’t share very well!
